I find myself more and more interested in people. More specifically in how people work and think, how they interact with others, how they fit into their environment, why they are and what drives them to be. Ive always had a taste for psychology and sociology, and in my photo one finals I sort of explored those ideas a little bit. (those photos i will post and maybe bring to class once they come back from the Labette exhibit)
I also found inspiration in some of the other students work from that photo exhibit last semester. I cant remember who did them but there was a series of pictures that focused on what people carried in their pockets. These were really interesting pieces and took a personal and in depth look at people in a very indirect manner. Carol's pictures with the dotted woman could also be looked at in this sociological light. I enjoyed her pictures and the subtle way that they "talk" about some of these issues if that makes sense to anyone but myself.
So for my next personal works Im planing on taking another look at and trying to explore those thoughts/ideas/questions about the "human" and see if we cant make it into some good thoughtful art as well.
Also, I posted a link to a youtube video for a really good/thought provoking song under the "Good Stuff" column. If your board or just curious take a look you may just enjoy it :)
