Bellow are two of my finals projects (yes they are from another class, But they also will familiarize you with my work). The top is from commercial art 2. It is an excerpt from a book called Brave New World (highly recommend it by the way) that has been adopted into a comic book for young readers. Specifically young teens that may be hesitant readers. The book has a lot of adult subject matter and discusses things that would make most full grown adults cringe, so the challenge here was to adopt such adult literature and turn it into something that wouldn't necessarily take away from the content but present it in a fashion that a younger person could comprehend and handle, but still keep them interested...all while still being tasteful.
The picture below that is one from my commercial art 1 class. It is the first page of an adaptation from the Brothers Grimm version of Repunzel. It was my job to introduce some of the characters, setting, story plot, build suspense, and make the reader want to turn to the next page. Ill let you decide how well it works.
